Gaara found himself actually having to stop himself from pacing around in his chambers. Tomorrow morning a fairly large group would leave for Konoha and the Chuunin-exams. There had been much to prepare, and making sure that Matsuri and her cell was ready.
But now everything that needed to be done was taken care off, and Gaara was waiting. Botan was scheduled to arrive any minute. It had been too long since he saw her last, and the anticipation made him restless.

Eventually he headed out to the balcony. Leaning against the banister, he just hoped that she hadn't forgotten where the portal was.

The large stone portal that Gaara led Botan through led to some fairly spacious but sparsely furnitured rooms. The windows that had been carved out in the stone walls showed a view over the hidden village of Sand. If the sun and the heat was anything to go by, it was in the middle of the afternoon. The streets that winded between large stone building were filled with people out on their daily business.
"My quarters." Gaara explained and headed over to a closet. After a few seconds of rummaging around, he took out a pair of loose black pants and a sand-colored cloak. "These should fit."
